"Onette and Mari. When I, the Ringleader of the Black Carnival, have other business to attend to, they will be your guides. They will welcome you into the Carnival of tortures.
Once upon a time, they were regular twins. Regular twins with separate bodies and separate minds and were ultimately separate people. Not that anyone else could tell. They were almost completely identical, you see. To everyone else, they could have been the same person. So it is with cruel logic that their fate shouldn't upset you.
I tend to pay more attention to these Carnival performers after they've already been put under my control, so don't ask me why they decided to run away from home. I have no idea, nor do I have any care. The point is, they ran straight to me. Not on purpose, of course.
But Onette, in their dashing escape, happened to trip on the way. She fell and broke her leg, cutting herself multiple times on the shards of a broken glass bottle that littered the dirty sidewalk they ran on. How terrible. Onette couldn't move, and her sister, Mari, could hardly help her up. Mari began to call for help. For anyone to help.
And so, like the gentleman that I am, I did.
I came and I made a deal to help save her sister's life. I offered an invitation to join the Carnival. I said that she would never have to leave her poor, broken sister's side ever again.
And, pretty fool, she agreed.
So now, they are my faithful servants. Mari has come to blindly love the Carnival as much as I do. Onette? Unfortunately, not nearly as much. You see, she never wanted to be saved...
If this image frightens you, then let me have you know that she is only scraping the surface of Kurokanibaru. I would have suggested that you turn back now if you are scared, but... I suppose it is already too late."
-Absolon, Ringleader of Kurokanibaru
This will be the first of quite a few Kurokanibaru sketch-ups. Happy October, everyone!
